Ryder Stroud
Ryder's passion for climbing dates back to his early high school days, when--as a then scrawny, 5' 4" teenager---he sought a sport that would allow him to get stronger while avoiding the scorn of the meatheads in the gym. What started as competitive indoor gym climbing quickly evolved into a passion for outdoor adventure, especially trad and alpine climbing. Since then, Ryder has climbed in places all over the world, from New York's legendary Shawangunks ("The Gunks") to the Hengduan Mountains in China on the eastern edge of the Himalaya. He now resides in San Francisco, living a combination office monkey-aspiring climber/guide life. Though he is always looking for the next big adventure, you can consistently find him near home in New Hampshire's White Mountains.
